The Diploma in CMS ED (Community Medical Services and Essential Drugs) is a two-year, semester-based program designed to provide knowledge of generic allopathic drugs for primary healthcare, as recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Honorable Supreme Court of India has ruled that individuals holding a CMS ED Diploma are permitted to prescribe allopathic medicines for various illnesses, including infections.
This diploma is a suitable option for professionals with degrees in Naturopathy, Alternative Medicine, Psychology, RMP, BEMS, BHMS, BAMS, and BUMS, who wish to practice allopathic medicine.
Course duration for CMS-ED lasts for 2 years (including 6 months internship).
The Diploma in CMS ED is not recommended for fresher students. This course is specifically designed for medical professionals who have 2 to 10 years of experience working in hospitals, nursing homes, or similar healthcare settings.
It is ideal for those who wish to establish their own clinic. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates receive a CMS ED certificate, which authorizes them to work as a doctor and prescribe 50 to 150 allopathic medications in their clinic.
10th or Higher, Rural Doctors RMP, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BEMS, BNYS, BPT, DPT, B.Pharmacy, D. Pharmacy, DNYS, Degree/ Diploma in Alternative Medicines, Paramedical, Nursing, Naturopathy, Dental etc.
Anatomy & Pathology, General Biology, Health & Hygiene, Health Education and Community Pharmacy, Patient Safety, Practice Of Medicine, Pharmacology & Practical (Project Based).
The medium of instruction would be English & Hindi.
According to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India’s ruling from the 19th of February 2003, anyone who completes the CMS diploma program may begin their medical practice in a rural area and utilize the allopathic medicines that the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends for primary healthcare.
